Life of a Zulu traditional married woman.

KwaZulu-Natal is a province that is dominated by people who have many beliefs, and for a family to be well respected it should first be the family that follow their customs. Zulus believe that a woman should be the most humbled person in the house, and she has a duty of taking care of the family children.

or woman in KZN to be respected and to be seen as a true wife she has to wear clothes that do not reveal, in such a way that married women have their own designed clothes that covers the entire body, to indicate that she is taken and these clothes are designed by a thick cowhide skirt that has been treated with charcoal and animal fat some are called Garment. Also on the upper-body she wears a vest with beadwork over it, she also wears a cover decorated with beads with a message understood only by her husband, and she should put something on her heard. A bride doesn’t speak to the father-in-law until a certain period, also her husband’s, better if she has a child with her husband the she can call him with her child it may be (Baba ka Zipho), Also she is not allowed to call her in-law names (brother, sister, uncle), even if an outside person share a name with one of the makoti’s in-law, Makoti has a duty to think of an alternative name that she may use to call that outside person with.

Zulu women in her New home is being thought that a women does not look a man in his eyes, when she speaks with a stranger (Man) that not her husband she should look aside, that shows that a women is respectful, and should show humbleness when she speaks. Also she seats on a Grass-mat, In some of the Zulu households there are Rondervel, Ronda has two sides, the right side is for men and the left is for woman, so Makoti is not allowed to be in or seen in the left side, until her Mother in-law tell her that the time is right she can cross to it.  Zulu wife does not eat Amasi in-her in-law, Also She should be able to do Traditional beer, because if there is any ceremony, traditional beer is the first thing to be made. In some Zulu culture women should give birth if not her husband will take 2nd wife, and then if she is polygamy she should respect that and love the other wives she is with.
Zulu traditional married women have to follow many things, but they are happy with that, they love and enjoy it. Home is Home because of woman. Zulu Women are proud of their culture, their custom.
